It is not my intention to replace the original recordings with these files. They are a means for people interested in purchasing the originals to sample them first. In that respect sound files are a very important tool for soundtrack sales. While on the other hand they violate the law. Each clip is limited in length (a few selected files cover an entire track) and the sound quality is recorded at a sample rate sufficient enough to give a proper indication of the music while in no way replacing the original.

The number of sound files is large. I've done this for a few reasons. First, I get many requests from visitors asking for clips. While I would like to fullfill these requests, recording and mixing sound files takes time. To do this repeatedly would most surely cause me to lose all last remnants of sanity. So I have included at least two sound clips from each film score (of those I own) and more for harder to find or stand out works. I think it's fair for someone who cannot find BLAC BEAUTY in a store to be able to hear music they might not be able to listen to otherwise. The second reason there are so many files is because Real Audio compresses standard PC .wavs into smaller file sizes. So downloading time is minimal (the Real Audio files do not stream on this site) and I can store more files on my server space.
