Danny Elfman returns! Not just back into the film scoring scene (anyone been running their copies of SLEEPY HOLLOW ragged like I have for the past year?) but to the season of Christmas with THE FAMILY MAN. Elfman's music is unfortunately given short shift on London-Sire's album (just north of 6 minutes of his music is on the disc) so here's the entire Elfman content (submitted for your approval) to sample. As you'll hear, FAMILY MAN is a pleasant and exciting mix of the Post-DEAD PRESIDENTS Elfman. "Promise" is some of his most straight-ahead, emotional scoring since SOMMERSBY. By the way, the album is a curious mix of early '90's tracks (Mr. Big!?!) - something fans of that era of music may want to check out.
