ELFMAN'S "APES" NABS GRAMMY NOD Danny Elfman's score for Planet of The Apes is nominated for a Grammy Award in the "Best Score Soundtrack Album For A Motion Picture, Television or Other Visual Media". The awards will be held on February 27th and televised in the U.S. on CBS. No word yet on whether or not this category is even televised or announced prior to the ceremony. Danny Elfman has been nominated for a Grammy for Batman (winning for "Best Instrumental Composition" for "The Batman Theme") and The Nightmare Before Christmas. INTERNET HOKEM POLICE: PT II Latest garbage rumor to hit the internet: Danny Elfman is scoring Terminator 3: Rise of The Machines (tentative title). This is neither confirmed or incredibly reasonable. Brad Fiedel has scored both Terminator films and is quite capable of handling the third. Jonathan Mostow (Breakdown and U-571) is directing. HANGING OUT AT "SPIDEY" SESSION Fellow filmmusic.com family member, Dan Goldwasser of SoundtrackNet was lucky enough to hang out at the recent scoring sessions for Spider-Man. Yes, he was in the same room as Sam Raimi and Danny Elfman and managed to keep his cool... Or so he says. You can check out a few photos from the day at SoundtrackNet. You can also check out MFADP's feature on the score, albeit minus all the hideous, Columbia Pictures-enraging, spoilers some nit-wit reported to SuperHeroHype.com. |
