ELFMAN APPEARS IN "THE GIFT"
(NEW! 1/21/01) Danny Elfman does in fact appear in Sam Raimi's new film THE GIFT (now in theaters). It's literally a 3 second cameo as Elfman appears as part of a dream the main character, and psychic Annie (played by Cate Blanchett) has. While he speaks no lines, Elfman must be happy that he is onscreen for so short a time (in his interview with Nuno Markl Elfman jokingly regretted ever agreeing to play the part). Danny did not however score the film - those duties instead went to Christopher Young.
SPIDER-MAN Confirmed!

REPORTS SAY RAIMI AND ELFMAN KNOW "SPIDER" THEME?
While it seems unlikely, Aint-it-Cool-News reported this past week that Sam Raimi and Danny Elfman have spoken regarding the theme for the upcoming SPIDER-MAN film. The AICN reporter stated that Elfman demo-ed the theme for Raimi and that Sam later hummed the tune. The film is in theaters Summer 2001 - a bit early for a theme you think!

ELFMAN HELPS WITH "SPY KIDS"!
Aint-It-Cool-News recently posted a link to the trailer for the new film from Robert Rodriguez (DESPERADO) titled SPY KIDS. Keen eyes who viewed the trailer spotted the heartwarming credit: "Floop Song" by Danny Elfman. More news as it happens!

Tim Burton's StainBoy Shockwave animation has finally premiered online. As Paul Tonks confirmed right here on MFADP back in May, Danny Elfman has scored the opening episode. Further adventures of StainBoy are planned for the future.

EUREKA! DISNEY GIVES 'NIGHTMARE' DUAL RE-RELEASE
It seems that someone at Disney finally pulled their head outta their arse...Or perhaps Tim Burton, Danny Elfman and Henry Selick just stormed Michael Eisner's office with loaded shotguns and demanded it - either way TIM BURTON'S THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS brings magic to your local movie theatre and home with new special edition DVD and VHS releases. While the release is limited you can check out Disney's small site for the film for a list of locations NIGHTMARE will be showing. Remember to go and and support this re-release...Don't be cheap!

In terms of the DVD - it's loaded. Containing most of the original laserdisc deluxe box set, the new DVD also features a ton of stills, outtakes, Tim Burton's VINCENT, FRANKENWEENIE and more. Look for a short bit with Danny Elfman too as he discusses the song writing process for the film.

Just when you though I'd crossed the line of sanity offering 30 minutes of audio from the PEE-WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE DVD isolated score/commentary track, I've gone even further.
