RAIMI DIRECTS ELFMAN'S "GIFT" FOR ACTING
In an exclusive interview with Danny Elfman featured only on this website, Elfman revealed he would not only be scoring Sam Raimi's next film THE GIFT, but also starring
in it. The film is set to be released this fall from Paramount Pictures, stars Oscar winner Hilary Swank, Cate Blanchett, and Keanu Reeves. Raimi and Elfman have collaborated on A SIMPLE PLAN, ARMY OF DARKNESS and
DARKMAN previously.
"PROOF OF LIFE" OF NEXT PROJECT
SoundtrackMag.com has reported that Danny will also be scoring Taylor Hackford's next film PROOF ON FILE starring Meg Ryan as a woman trying to free her engineer husband, played by Russell Crowe who has been kidnapped anti-goverment guerrilla soldiers in South America. Director Hackford and Elfman previously collaborated on DOLORES CLAIBORNE.
 BURTON'S SHOCKWAVE ANIMATIONS
SET TO ELFMAN MUSIC
Tim Burton inked a deal with software manufacturer Macromedia to create Shockwave animations to premiere online. Paul Tonks has confirmed that Danny Elfman will score the animations. Burton has also helmed ads for TIMEX, however the Dust Brothers have scored them. The ads will show before prints on MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 2 - oddly enough another project Elfman was not involved with!
PLANET OF THE APES CONFIRMED
Tim Burton is confirmed director for the remake of the classic PLANET OF THE APES film. Richard D. Zanuck is producing. Zanuck was head of production at 20th Century Fox when the original film was produced.
SLEEPY HOLLOW DEBUTS

Tim Burton's darkly comic
SLEEPY HOLLOW premieres on video and special edition DVD from Paramount Home Video, May 23rd. The DVD features commentary by Burton, a making of featurette (which includes an interview with Elfman and shots on the scoring stage) photo gallery and a pristine transfer of the film among other extras. Walt Disney Company has also confirmed that THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS will be released this September in a two-disc set. More details as they come on this release...

SLEEPY HOLLOW SCORES
BMI AWARD FOR ELFMAN
Danny Elfman picked up another BMI Award for his SLEEPY HOLLOW score. The ceremonies were held May 15 in Los Angeles (although Danny was not in attendance). Elfman has won prior awards for MEN IN BLACK, GOOD WILL HUNTING and FLUBBER.
ELFMAN A NO-GO FOR "CONDO"
Contrary to what was first reported, Danny Elfman has not contributed any music to the film CONDO PAINTING.
