DANNY ELFMAN N' NO DOUBT The following was posted to FILMUS-L, an email list dedicated to filmmusic: "I spoke with Adrian Young (No Doubt Drummer) backstage at The Vandals show who told me the band has finished seven songs so far on their next album, but they 'let go' the producer. Adrian cited 'confidence issues' as the primary reason. Nothing is official or inked for the new producer, but he said he'd like to use Oingo Boingo's Danny Elfman. They have meetings this month. That would be a hot combination." Source: Aaron Stipkovich Site: http://www.buzzine.com SAM RAIMI IN TORONTO Sam Raimi's A SIMPLE PLAN opened to rave reviews from Toronto film festival goers.  The film, now moved for release on December 4th, earned an enthusiastic response by the audience I saw the film with. There is still no word yet on a soundtrack CD release, but the film's delay means the CD has a higher chance of hitting stores before the film hits theaters.  ELFMAN CHANNELS HERRMANN: RELEASE ON GEFFEN Gus Van Sant's much bashed and much anticipated redo of Alfred Hitchcock's PSYCHO is due in theaters on December 4th. BRIEFLY... Tim Burton has signed a deal with Columbia Tri-Star television to executive produced a live action series based on the books based on OZ by Frank L. Baum. The series will focus on lesser known characters from the novels.
